Glass skin may sound ideal, but the majority of us struggle with some level of facial redness, itchiness, and skin sensitivity.
At its best, facial redness can be an inconvenience, but at its worst, it can be a sign of serious health problems and a cause of irritation, discomfort, or insecurity. Whether your irritation is brought on by acne, rosacea, sensitivity, or a combination of these, various reasons will further explain what causes facial redness and here at Goodieco, we have several products that are tried-and-true solutions to minimize, calm, and neutralize your facial redness for good. Read along to learn more.
Causes of Skin Redness
Facial redness doesn't have a "one size fits all" explanation. There are various reasons why your face could appear irritated and red. Meanwhile, what most people refer to as facial redness can be caused by a range of various skin conditions.
While it's impossible to identify the exact source of your facial redness every time you rinse, these are some of the most typical causes of skin redness:
Although the exact cause of rosacea is unknown, it may be brought on by a hyperactive immune system, genetics, environmental factors, or a combination of these. Rosacea is not contagious and is not brought on by bad hygiene. Known flare-ups of rosacea may be triggered by extreme temperatures, hot beverages, and spicy foods.
Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema
Stress, immune system activation, environmental triggers, genetics, and environmental factors all contribute to the development of eczema (atopic dermatitis). Your immune system overreacts to slight allergens or irritants if you have eczema, and this may result in itchiness and skin redness.
Contact dermatitis is an allergic reaction to a specific material or direct touch, which will lead to an itchy rash. Although the rash cannot be transmitted, it is still very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Jewellery, cosmetic ingredients, plants, and many other substances can trigger this reaction. Frequently, days after exposure, the rash will eventually appear.
Over-exfoliation happens more frequently than you might imagine. It can come from using exfoliating products that are too strong for your skin as well as from exfoliating too often. In either case, excessive exfoliating seriously weakens the natural defenses of your skin.
Seborrheic dermatitis is most likely caused by an inflammatory response to an overabundance of Malassezia yeast, an organism that ordinarily dwells on the surface of the skin. The immune system appears to overreact to the Malassezia as it overgrows, which causes an inflammatory reaction and skin changes.
Causes of Skin Inflammation
When your immune system reacts to a stimulus or trigger, skin inflammation develops. The immune system has a wide variety of cell types that contribute to inflammation.
Different chemicals are released by these cells, which can enlarge blood arteries and increase their permeability. This makes it simpler for the immune response to get to the damaged area. Additionally, it causes a lot of the signs and symptoms of inflammation, such as swelling, heat, and redness.
The following are some possible causes of skin inflammation:
Dysfunction in the Immune System
When your immune system is malfunctioning, as it sometimes does with psoriasis, it may cause an immune response to be directed toward normal, healthy tissues.
A skin disorder known as dermatitis herpetiformis can also develop in patients with celiac disease after consuming gluten-containing foods.
In some situations, skin inflammation might result from an allergic reaction that occurs when your immune system overreacts to something it perceives as foreign. Specific medications, foods, perfumes, or cosmetic products may cause an allergic rash.
Fungal, Viral, or Bacterial Infection
Infections that can result in skin irritation include yeast found in skin oil that causes seborrheic dermatitis, or other infections such as impetigo, cellulitis, and ringworm.
Sunlight Sensitivity and Heat
This is an immunological response to sunlight. Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight as a result of several medical diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Meanwhile, heat rash can result from a skin reaction to heat. This happens when sweat gets stuck in your pores, irritating them and leading to a rash.
How To Treat Skin Redness and Inflammation
Everyone has some level of redness on occasion, and no one has perfect skin. However, there are a few ways to stop it before it even starts. Knowing your triggers is the key.
Extreme weather (including heat and cold), caffeine, spicy foods, chocolate, and stress are the most frequent triggers that are not related to products. It's best to play around and learn about your triggers so you can avoid them, but keep in mind that not all of the listed things will be triggers for everyone.
Here is a short list of methods you can do to reduce skin redness, itching, and inflammation:
1. Apply Sunscreen
Make sure to always use sunscreen first and foremost! Protection is essential because the sun can be a potent trigger for the skin of most people.
2. Keep Your Skincare Regimen Straightforward
Be careful not to overdo your skin care regimen if you are prone to redness. Utilize moisturizing, soothing cleansers, serums, and moisturizers.
3. Use AHA Toners & Peel Pads in Moderation
Exfoliating at home is great for anti-aging, but don't overdo it by using them twice a day. Avoid using physical exfoliants like abrasive sugar or walnut scrubs on your face.
4. Recognize Your Triggers
Rosacea and eczema sufferers may also have inflamed skin after taking a hot shower, consuming alcohol, exercising, or using fragranced products, in addition to the previously described causes of face redness (synthetic or natural).

It contains organic nutrients that will help you repair, nourish, and revitalize skin that has lost moisture and will have fewer or no side effects when applied to the skin.
Additionally, our Nourishing Trio will nourish and heal a compromised acid mantle, which is frequently the root of sensitive skin. Your skin can perform as it should by developing a healthy skin barrier, preventing overreaction to newer substances.
Also, our starter pack lasts for a minimum of 4 weeks usage, while the core pack lasts for a minimum of 8 weeks usage.
Our Nourishing Trio: 3-Step Routine includes the following products:
- 1-piece Next Level Cleansing Oil
- 1-piece Layer Once Nourishing Oil
- 1-piece Dream Serum Rose Balancing Serum
Skincare Regime Usage Procedure:
Step 1: Next Level Cleansing Oil
After getting out of the shower, your face needs to be warmed and dampened.
Apply 2 to 4 drops of your cleansing oil to your damp hands, rub them together, and then gently massage your face for about 30 seconds.
( Tip: There's no need to use too much cleansing oil if your fingertips don't glide over your skin throughout this process. Instead, apply extra water. )
Take a washcloth after and rinse it in warm water. The washcloth should feel warm to the touch and moist, but not uncomfortable. Allow the steam from the washcloth to softly penetrate your skin by holding it over your face for 10 seconds.
Now use gentle upward sweeping strokes to gently wipe the oil from your face. As you wipe, fold the washcloth a few times to make sure you're using a clean area of it and avoid using excessive friction.
Step 2: Layer Once Nourishing Oil
Use 1–2 drops of your Nourishing Oil on damp palms and briskly rub your hands together to warm the oil. Apply the facial oil by rubbing your fingers over your freshly washed face and neck. Give it around 30 seconds to absorb.
Step 3: Dream Serum Rose
Finally, take a few drops of your serum and dab them on your fingertips. To properly spread the serum, lightly press and briskly whisk it over your face and neck.
Then you're done. Check out your radiant skin and yourself in the mirror for a bit.
(Tip: We advise applying your serum as the last step during your morning routine because it will serve as a primer for your makeup later in the day.)
REMINDER: You can reverse the sequence of your Facial Oil and Serum when using your Trio in the evening before bed so that you apply the Serum first and the Facial Oil last.

Reduce The Number of Products You Use
It's time to simplify your product routine with Goodieco if you believe that your red skin is the result of a product allergy or over-exfoliating. In these situations, it is generally recommended to remove all unnecessary cosmetic products from your regimen, including makeup, to limit allergy exposure. A trip to a dermatologist who offers patch testing is beneficial for allergy-related issues as well.

Prescription anti-inflammatory creams, oral antibiotics, facials, and laser treatments are typical alternatives for treating rosacea and eczema.
